It was really interesting to read the introduction of the studies of Harlow and
Deci’s. It is odd that in this century people would
do something without a reward, but they are some people that do things for
motivation or because they are interesting. I agree with both Barb and Jacque comments. I agree because sometimes students want to be praised
or want the extra incentive as Barb mention. Also, some students do focus more on their
grades instead of learning the material as Jacque mention. Tying this with students, I want students to understand
the material, not because they have to or for the grade, but because they want
too. I would like students to be
motivated about learning new material as they come to class. As in the research, I want students to get
interested in the material and take outside time of class to review the new
material.
